TAMPA BAY –Tampa Bay Area Volkswagen dealers and the Tampa Bay Lightning are teaming up to bring the Lightning Concert Series presented by Volkswagen to the St. Pete Times Forum this season. The concert series will continue in December and January with performances by John Waite following the December 4 game against the Colorado Avalanche, Gandalf Murphy after the December 18 game versus the Buffalo Sabres and Jennette McCurdy following the January 1 game against the New York Rangers. The concert series performances will be held outdoors on the West Plaza stage immediately following the game. Access to the Lightning Concert Series presented by Volkswagen is free with the purchase of a Lightning game ticket.
Considered one of the most uniquely identifiable voices in Rock-n-Roll, John Waite found success three times in his career as lead vocalist for The Babys and Bad English, as well as a solo career that produced numerous Billboard charted hits including the #1 smash “Missing You.”

Waite’s career began in the late 1970’s and spans over 30 years. His band, The Babys, released five studio albums together with a number of Top 40 hits including, “Isn’t It Time?,” “Back On My Feet Again” and “Everytime I Think Of You.” Waite released his first solo album, Ignition, in 1982 which boasted the MTV/rock radio staple “Change.” A year later, back with a new record No Brakes, Waite found himself at the top of the charts with his hit “Missing You.” The song made it to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Missing You” remains a radio staple, covered by artists such as Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Alison Krauss and most recently, pop artist Orianthi on her 2010 album Believe. In 1989, Waite joined supergroup Bad English which spawned six chart topping hits including the #1 hit “When I See You Smile.” A new studio album is also in the works with help from Matchbox Twenty’s lead guitarist and songwriter Kyle Cook. The as-yet-untitled collection of brand new music is set for an early 2011 release.

In 1998, Gandalf Murphy and The Slambovian Circus of Dreams emerged from the misty hills of Sleepy Hollow, New York and exploded upon the Hudson Valley music scene with their stunning self-produced debut release, "A Good Thief Tips His Hat.” The quirky quartet then began touring throughout the northeast and rapidly developed a fiercely loyal, all-ages following. Featured recently in Relix Magazine, The New York Times and on the CBS hit show, Joan of Arcadia, the band's charismatic live performances and whimsical blend of folk, rock, hillbilly and pop have simply captivated audiences and critics alike.
Though she’s just a couple of weeks shy of her 18th birthday, Jennette McCurdy is an energetic young artist with the drive, talent and creative chutzpah it takes to turn dreams into reality. Already a successful actress with a legion of fans who know her as the sassy Sam Puckett on the Nickelodeon TV series iCarly, McCurdy is also a gifted singer/songwriter who has long wanted to launch a career in country music.

McCurdy inked a record deal with Capitol Nashville on June 26, 2009. Her debut reflects her uniqueness as an artist, as she’s both an old soul and an effervescent teen. She boasts an acting resume that includes CSI, Malcolm in the Middle, Judging Amy, Law & Order: SVU, Zoey 101 and Will and Grace. McCurdy has been nominated for the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a television series and was nominated for a 2009 Teen Choice Award for Favorite Sidekick for her work on iCarly.
