NewsSt. Pete Times Forum Celebrates 10 Years of Sports and Entertainment in the Bay Area The St. Pete Times Forum is celebrating its 10 year anniversary throughout the month of October. Since opening its doors on October 12, 1996 for the first-ever event, The Royal Hanneford Circus, the St. Pete Times Forum has provided the biggest and most diverse schedule of sports and entertainment events of any venue year in and year out. Home of the 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning and Five-Time Arena Football Champions the Tampa Bay Storm, the St. Pete Times Forum ranks among the very best venues in the United States. The venue hosts a variety of concerts, events and family shows for all ages and uses versatile and innovative arena configurations to present shows to crowds of all sizes. “We have been dedicated to developing the arena into one of the nation’s finest and most attended venues in the country. Our 10 year anniversary marks a pivotal milestone for our organization and we will be sharing the excitement with all of our fans!” said Ron Campbell, President of the Tampa Bay Lightning and St. Pete Times Forum. Fans will be part of the celebration when a limited edition model of the building is handed out to the first 5,000 attendees at the October 19 Lightning game. Also, at ten select Lightning games, the St. Petersburg Times newspaper will distribute posters commemorating 10 great moments in the venue’s history to all fans. Over 30,000 Anniversary Cards will be mailed to fans throughout the month of October that include a $10 gift card that can be used toward concessions or merchandise at any Lightning game. During games, Lightning fans will be treated to a 10th Anniversary video featuring highlights from the last decade. A special ticket book has also been created for season ticket holders featuring images of memorable concerts and sporting events. Additionally, a special ’10 Year Anniversary’ logo has been created to commemorate the event, and will be used throughout the month of October.
