NewsLingerie Football League's Tampa Breeze Return to the Gridiron at the St. Pete Times Forum Breeze to take on Miami Caliente, Dec. 17 and Philadelphia Passion Jan. 13
TAMPA BAY- Lingerie Football League (LFL) and Tampa Breeze officials are excited to announce the return of Tampa’s newest and most exciting team, the Tampa Breeze. The LFL features some of America's most attractive and athletic models competing in 7-on-7 full-contact tackle football games on Friday nights throughout the season. The games are held at major arenas and stadiums as part of LFL, Friday Night Football.
The Tampa Breeze will start the season on the road with games against the LFL’s newest expansion team, the Orlando Fantasy and the Baltimore Charm. They will return to home field action December 17 when they take on their inner-state rival, the Miami Caliente. The Breeze will close out the regular season at home January 13 versus the Philadelphia Passion.
Tickets for the Tampa Breeze’s 2010-11 season will go on sale this Saturday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m. Fans can enjoy discounts off of regular ticket prices when they purchase both home games at once.
The 2009 Tampa Breeze had a strong inaugural season, finishing the season with two big wins over rival Miami and New York. However, the team missed the playoffs due to a slow start despite having one of the best rosters in the league, including two franchise quarterbacks with Denesha Crawford and Jenn Myers.
Despite missing the playoffs in 2009, the team sent more players to the LFL all-star game than any other team in the league with seven players. The 2010 LFL All-Fantasy Game is scheduled for June 10, 2010 in Monterrey, Mexico. The Breeze is returning its core nucleus of players, including 2009 Defensive Player of the Year Elizabeth Gorman, running back Tiffani Powers, quarterbacks Denesha Crawford and Jenn Myers, defensive end Carie Small and linebackers Emanda Doscher and Jennifer Langston.
Despite a down economy in 2009 which greatly impacted all major professional sports, the LFL had an incredible inaugural season in 2009 with 30% higher than projected attendance, including several near capacity crowds. The LFL was second in primetime television ratings, boasted record internet traffic and welcomed 2010 expansion markets.
