St. Pete Times Forum to aid in Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill Relief as part of "Community Friendly Friday" July 16

Donations to benefit Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary in North Redington Beach, Florida
 
TAMPA BAY The St. Pete Times Forum will continue its community call to action this Friday, July 16 in an effort to collect donations to aid in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill disaster on behalf of the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary in North Redington Beach, Florida.
 
On April 20, 2010 the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded, killing 11 workers and injury 17 others in the largest offshore spill in U.S. history. The Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary in North Redington Beach is on stand-by to assist with the Gulf of Mexico oil spill with over 700 volunteers on call if needed. This week, donors are encouraged to bring liquid dish soap, baby wipes and Pepto-Bismol® to the St. Pete Times Forum Box Office from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. These items will be used to assist oiled wildlife affected by the Gulf of Mexico spill.
 
“Community Friendly Friday” is a program created to help drive donation campaigns orchestrated by local non-profit organizations across the Tampa Bay area. On select Fridays throughout the summer, the St. Pete Times Forum will host a special community initiative on behalf of these groups. Those donating will receive a voucher redeemable for four tickets to a Tampa Bay Storm home game,plus additional ticket offers throughout the campaign.
 
“We believe it’s important to lend a hand to organizations assisting with the oil spill relief efforts, and are pleased to support the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary in its mission,” said Bill Wickett, Executive Vice President of Communications for the St. Pete Times Forum and Tampa Bay Lightning. “Tampa Bay residents have always been generous with their support of our community, and we hope that partnering with this organization will help facilitate relief efforts.”
 
A special prize wheel will also be on site for all participating community members to spin for the opportunity to win additional prizes, including Tampa Bay Storm seat upgrades, Lightning merchandise, tickets to select concerts and Lightning autographed items.
