Legendary rockers Stone Temple Pilots stood high atop the Alternative music mountain in the 1990's, landing 15 singles in the Billboard Top Ten with such hits as "Big Empty," "Plush" and "Vasoline." Coarse guitars, sweltering vocals and an excessive pedigree served as a highway for this California quartet to ride for nearly twenty years. Their five-album discography has sold more than 40 million copies worldwide. In Spring 2008, STP officially revealed that the band were reuniting and launched a massive 2008 concert tour encompassing over 65 dates and hitting all corners of North America. Marking the first national tour for Stone Temple Pilots in almost eight years, the tour brought the iconic band’s charismatic musicianship and exhilarating live shows to amphitheatres across North America. Scott Weiland, Robert DeLeo, Dean DeLeo and Eric Kretz roared back onto the music scene in early 2010 with the release of a ferocious self-titled disc. The Tampa Bay Lightning will open its 18th National Hockey League season on Saturday, October 9 when they play host to the Atlanta Thrashers at 7:30 p.m. The matchup will feature special pregame activities on the West Plaza, including live music, schedule magnet giveaway, food and beverage specials and more. The hit band ZO2, stars of the show Z Rock on cable innovator IFC, will sing the national anthem. Following the game, the band will perform a free post-game concert on the West Plaza.
