Donate food to Metropolitan Ministries and receive free ticket vouchers to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus

TAMPA BAY – As Thanksgiving and the holiday season approach, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® is again collecting food to help stock Metropolitan Ministries’ pantry shelves.  During this difficult economy and as the holidays approach, the organization’s need for food donations is increasing.

For one day only, Thursday, November 18 between 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey®is offering Tampa Bay consumers the opportunity to energize their community and donate non-perishable, unexpired food items in exchange for ticket vouchers to Fully ChargedSM, the all-new 141st Edition of The Greatest Show On Earth®.  A donation of 10 food items entitles each consumer to one ticket voucher, with a limit of four vouchers per household. Ticket vouchers are available to those who donate while supplies last and plaza level seating is not available.  Vouchers can be redeemed at the St. Pete Times Forum Box Office for the Wednesday, January 5th, 7:30 p.m. opening night performance.

Ringling Bros. and Metropolitan Ministries are making it easy with drive-through service!  No need to find a parking space or carry heavy grocery bags – consumers can even stay in their PJ’s!  They can simply drive to the circle drive at the St. Pete Times Forum (401 Channelside Drive) stay in their cars and volunteers will meet them and exchange ticket vouchers for donations, right through car windows.  The items most needed by Metropolitan Ministries include: cereal, canned fruit, and yams.

The St. Pete Times Forum Box Office is located on the Northwest side of the venue at 401 Channelside Drive.  Short-term (15 minutes) parking is available in the circle drive in front of the St. Pete Times Forum except during events.  Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Box Office hours may vary on event days.  Please call for hours or more information.

Last year’s food drive generated elephant-sized results.  In only two hours, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® collected nearly three tons of food -- equating to approximately 4,000 meals to feed the needy in Tampa Bay.  Hundreds of consumers participated -- from dads in gym shorts to moms in PJs to young professionals on their way to work.

“We are so excited to once again work to bring the “feel-good” event to Tampa Bay,” said Angie Pattison, manager of community donations for Metropolitan Ministries.  “The food collected will be used to feed families across the bay area through Metropolitan Ministries’ holiday efforts.”
