TBTF Foundation Hosts the 2009 Tech Jam
8/4/2009

Tech Jam - August 6, 2009, 5:00 pm

TAMPA BAY- The TBTF Foundation, the charitable arm of the Tampa Bay Technology Forum, hosts this year’s Tech Jam will take place this Thursday, August 6 at the St. Pete Times Forum at 5:00 PM. Funds from the event will benefit the Foundation’s programs including scholarships for underserved youth pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) as well as career training and computer labs at area Boys & Girls Clubs.

"Last year we had the biggest Tech Jam to date, setting a new record in both attendance and money raised. We are excited for this year’s Tech Jam and are working hard to make it bigger and better,” said Tony DiBenedetto, TBTF Foundation chairman. “We understand it is a difficult economic time, but children need our assistance now more than ever so they may continue with their education and become positive influences in our community."

Funds are raised for the Foundation through sponsorships, ticket sales and a silent auction. Known as “a summer party with a purpose,” each year Tech Jam features a band, cocktails, dancing, great food and excellent company to network with in a unique setting unlike a typical business event. This year several gaming and entertainment experiences will be set up throughout the event for attendees to take part in, and even challenge one another.
