NewsThe Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Joins Star Wars: In Conceret Tour St. Pete Times Forum - November 1 at 4pm TAMPA BAY - Star Wars™: In Concert is a unique multi-media event featuring music from all six of John Williams’ epic Star Wars scores. Recently, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra which performed the world premiere performances of Star Wars™: In Concert at the O2 Arena in London in April 2009 has been added to the tour. The tour will come to the St. Pete Times Forum in Tampa November 1 at 4:00 pm. The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra has been in constant demand for live performances and recordings of classical, light classical and popular music since its formation in 1987. This season, they have performed the popular Rodgers and Hammerstein musical The King and I, joined comedian Barry Humphries (and his famous alter ego Dame Edna Everage) for a riotous UK tour of ‘Last Night of the Proms!’ and are currently performing STAR WARSTM: In Concert which began its North American tour earlier this month. Narrated live by Anthony Daniels (the actor who portrayed C-3PO in all six films), the production features the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, accompanied by specially edited footage from the films displayed on a three-story-tall, high-definition LED super-screen – one of the largest ever put on tour. The live music and film elements are synchronized in order to create full multi-media, one-of-kind Star Wars experience. Accompanying the concert is an exclusive exhibit of Star Wars costumes, props, artifacts, production artwork and specially created behind-the-scenes videos from the Lucasfilm Archives. Many of these pieces are leaving Skywalker Ranch for the first time. The exhibit features many classic fan favorite artifacts, as well as several new and never-before-seen items.
