News2012 RNC to be held in Tampa Bay TAMPA, FL – May 12, 2010 – The Republican National Committee announced today that the 2012 Republican National Convention (RNC) will be held in Tampa Bay. Over 40,000 visitors will gather the week of Aug. 27, 2012. The proposed venue for the 2012 RNC will be the state-of-the-art St. Pete Times Forum and the RNC will use an estimated 15,000 hotel room nights for five nights.
